Went to opening of the new National Education Nature Park at the Natural History Museum. In the middle of a London heatwave was great to feel the impact of natural cooling in urban environments when we design with trees, greenery and large water features.
Really enjoyed my walk around with Ed (thanks for invite!) and really impressive how the project has developed from conversations that I think started in 2019. Lots of great sensors installed and creating an important archive of urban data. Looking forward to taking opportunities to collaborate as they emerge.
The reception in the garden was followed by speeches and demos inside a much warmer central hall. Doug Gurr (NHM Director) introduced the Nature Activity Centre and the National Education Nature Park supported by AWS.
Mac sent me a picture of the Nuna Green Wall Irrigation System at Avenue Primary School - is looking good!
Student work is starting to appear around the lab - like the look of this runner, not sure what it is for yet, but intrigued and happy about the physicality of the projects this year.
First of the courgettes from the allotment -30 minutes between the before and after. Tasted lovely.
Was gifted a whiskey - LEDAIG TRIPLE WOOD - very nice.
Looking at links.duncanwilson.com, these parts of the internet crossed my path this week:
- No Fence - was having a chat with Tom at YV.
- UKRI funding page - they said it was updated but I am not sure how.
